Usually each year we’d attend Alexandra Palace for the London Festival of Model Railways. However, health and other stresses made us both to decide not to go in future.
Instead, we decided to go to Scalefour North. We booked a hotel room in order to attend both days (the ticket price allows attendance both days, as opposed to most shows) to get the most out of it.
Held in Wakefield each year, it is a reasonably long distance from Coventry, but we found it worth the trip last year. We were both looking forward to it a lot.
I had planned to stock up on various P4 related track items to be able to make a start on the P4 project layout. I managed to find an A6 pont kit by Exactoscale on the bring-n-buy stand for a rather good price, which will get me started nicely. I also picked up some exactoscale track bases and some BH rail from C&L Finescale. Also aquired were yet more books, track gauges and a chassis kit for a Pannier tank (this being for the Lillie Bridge depot diorama/layout).
Overall a fantastic show. Now to look forward to ExpoEM in May, Railex also in May, DEMU Showcase in June and Scaleforum in September as well as ExpoEM North in September.
